Dog owners who are looking for a budget-friendly pet insurance plan that prioritises accident coverage may find AIA's PawSafe plan to be a good choice. While PawSafe is one of the cheapest plans on the market, it offers the highest 3rd party liability coverage on the market and a handful of accident benefits. However, it doesn't offer coverage for illnesses, which can make this plan less suitable for dog owners who are looking for medical coverage.

AIA PawSafe Insurance Highlights

AIA's affordable premiums and coverage may make this plan a good choice for owners of healthy dogs who want accident coverage but don't want to spend a lot on a comprehensive plan. PawSafe's plans cost 67% below the industry average and include coverage for accidental injury, theft, accidental death and 3rd party liability. PawSafe's third party liability of S$1,000,000 is the highest on the market, making it a good choice for owners of hard-to-train or unruly pets. Beyond this, the S$1,000 accidental injury and death coverage and S$250 death benefit is average compared to the coverage found in other basic-tier plans on the market. Based on the attractive premium and coverage, PawSafe may be a good emergency backup plan for pet owners who want some financial coverage against the unexpected.

PawSafe does have some drawbacks. First, it only covers dogs, so cat owners will have to find another insurer. Second, there is no medical coverage for illnesses. This means that dog owners who are concerned about illnesses such as cancer will not find this plan suitable either. Lastly, this plan only covers dogs up to age 8. Considering that dogs have an average lifespan between 10 and 13 years, this means that you will have to look for another policy if you want coverage for the senior years of your dog's life. This can be difficult to do considering most other policies have an eligibility cut-off age of 7 to 9 years.
