AirAsia Credit Cards

BIG Membership offers several ways of earning and redeeming BIG Points, from flights to hotels, shopping, dining, and converting your bank loyalty points to BIG Points. However, the quickest and most efficient way to accumulate points is to sign up for an AirAsia credit card.

Both of the cards that are connected to the AirAsia program reward you with 1BIG Point on every 0.33 SGD (1MYR) spent on overseas purchases and 0.66 (2MYR) spent on AirAsia purchases. The only difference is that the Platinum Credit Card earns higher rewards on local purchases than the Gold Card rewards for local purchases are far lower than those of the Platinum Card.

Each membership tier requires a certain number of short-haul flight purchases. You will be upgraded to the next BIG Membership tier within 12 months of meeting those requirements. The Platinum and Black tiers produce the best value for your money, with the former earning you up to 7X BIG Points and the latter up to 12X BIG Points.

Spending S$33 (RM100) will earn you between 550 and 700 BIG Points as a Platinum tier member, and between 1000 and 1200 as Black tier member. This gives you enough points to purchase up to two flights every Monday during a Final Call Sale, when flights are 90% off market rates. In addition, you can redeem these points for promo flights every day at up to a 70% discount based on the flight's travel time.

AirAsia Credit Cards

A great way to maximize your BIG Points earnings is to sign up for AirAsia's credit cards. Both cards offer equal points earnings on AirAsia purchases and overseas spending, as well as a welcome bonus and a quarterly bonus. The two cards differ on minimum salary requirements, annual fees and credit limits. One great benefit of these cards is that even if you don't meet the minimum salary, you can still qualify by making a fixed deposit pledge instead.

To sign up you need to either have a minimum salary of S$7,866 (RM24,000) or make a minimum fixed deposit pledge of S$655 (RM2,000).
