There are plenty of benefits when it comes to KrisFlyer membership. KrisFlyer members can also enroll in the Scoot Insider rewards program, which lets you redeem KrisFlyer miles on low-cost flights in Southeast Asia. Another great benefit is that once you reach the KrisFlyer Elite Silver tier, you will also be automatically enrolled in Star Alliance membership, an alliance consisting of 26 additional airlines.

In addition to the memberships below, you can sign up for a free Scoot Insider membership and sync your miles earned through KrisFlyer with Scoot miles, thereby being able to use miles of one program on flights of the other's.

Updated Membership Rules: Normally, qualifying for KrisFlyer Elite Silver requires that you earn 25,000 Elite miles within 12 consecutive months to gain a membership that expires after 12 months. In response to global COVID-19 travel restrictions, these membership renewal rules have been adjusted. Memberships which were to be renewed between March 2020 and February 2021 will be automatically renewed. Memberships which will be renewed between March 2021 and February 2022 will only need to earn 50% of the required miles for renewal.

While at 1.1 KrisFlyer miles per S$1 on all spend American Express KrisFlyer Credit Card doesn't offer the highest KrisFlyer miles earn rate compared to other KrisFlyer cards, it does offer the best rewards for high spenders. After the first charge on your card, you will receive a welcome bonus of 7,500 KrisFlyer miles. In order to qualify for the additional spend bonus, you must spend at least S$3,000 in the first 3 months to receive 5,000 KrisFlyer miles. New American Express applicants will receive an additional Acer Monitor KA242Y (u.p. S$349*) as a gift.

This card also offers savings with American Express Selects at a number of hotels, stores and restaurants in Singapore and around the world. Currently, you can save 15% on Pan Pacific Hotels restaurants and 20% on rooms at Pan Pacific Hotels Group, with an additional 5% savings for Pan Pacific Discovery members.

American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card

American Express KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card is a great card for high income earners and frequent flyers with Singapore Airlines. Unlike the rest of KrisFlyer cards, this is the only one which does not waive the first year annual fee and also one that has the highest fee, at S$337.05. While it may seem expensive at first, if it fits your spending patterns, the returns on the card can be great. In addition to a welcome bonus of 7,500 KrisFlyer miles after the first spend on card, a minimum spend of S$5,000 in the first three months will earn you Bang & Olufsen Beoplay E8 2.0 headphones and an additional 10,000 KrisFlyer miles for new customers. Its earn rate is 1.2 KrisFlyer miles for every S$1 spent locally and 2 KrisFlyer miles on overseas spend (in June and December) and on Singapore Airlines and KrisShop spend, with no caps.
