Table of Contents

Best Miles Card for Shopping: Citi Rewards Visa Card

Consider this if you want to maximise miles rewards on shopping expenses online, offline and overseas

Annual Income Requirement S$30,000
Foreigner Income Requirement S$42,000

In our opinion, there are two credit cards in Singapore that provide the best rewards for shopping. The first is Citi Rewards Visa Card. Unlike most other shopping rewards cards that offer awards only at predesignated stores or online, Citi Rewards card provides extra miles where ever you shop, even in foreign countries. Combining flexibility of choosing where to shop with 4 miles for every S$1 spent on shopping, Citi Rewards card has the best rewards program we’ve seen in this category.

Besides shopping, it also helps you save money on petrol at Esso and Shell (up to 14%), though we do admit 0.4 miles on other purchases is pretty dismal. For this reason, we highly recommend Citi Rewards Visa Card only to active shoppers who can earn enough miles to offset the high S$192.6 of annual that is waived for 1 year.

Highlights

  • Annual fee: S$192.6, waived 1st year
  • 4 miles (10 reward points) for every S$1 spent on shopping (including online), 8 miles (20 reward points) at selected department stores in Singapore
  • Up to 14% off on petrol at Esso and Shell
  • Promotion: 8 miles per S$1 spent on Lazada and Amazon
  • Welcome Bonus: S$120 cash rebate welcome gift

Best Shopping Miles Credit Card without Annual Fees: OCBC Titanium Rewards Card

Consider this if you want to earn miles on shopping and mobile payments without paying an annual fee

Annual Income Requirement S$30,000
Foreigner Income Requirement S$45,000

OCBC Titanium Rewards Card is another one of the top 2 shopping rewards credit cards in Singapore. After its major rebranding in 2016, it is providing equivalent mile awards as Citi Rewards credit card: both cards now provide 4 miles for every S$1 spent on shopping, and 0.4 miles for S$1 spent on all other things. Not only that, OCBC Titanium extends the 4 miles reward to every S$1 spent via mobile payments like Apple Pay and Android Pay, which is widely accepted everywhere in Singapore.

Its annual fee of S$192.6 is waived for 2 years, and subsequently waived as long as you spend at least S$10,000 on the card annually. If you are looking for a shopping credit card that earns miles and want to avoid paying high annual fees, OCBC Titanium is an excellent choice.

Best Miles Card for 0% Interest Payment Plans: DBS Woman's World Card

Consider this if you need to make a large purchase that you can't immediately afford

Annual Income Requirement S$80,000
Foreigner Income Requirement S$80,000

DBS Woman's World Card is an excellent miles credit card that also comes with a special 0% instalment payment plan. It matches its competition with its 4 miles per S$1 spent online, though admittedly it does fall a bit behind in terms of its miles rewards on overseas and offline spending. Most importantly, DBS Womn's World Card has a 0% interest payment plan called "My Preferred Payment Plan", which allows cardholders to slowly pay for their purchase in instalments over 3, 6 or 12 months long tenure. DBS's My Preferred Payment Plan is also unique in not charging any processing fee for up to 12 months, though you can't receive rewards for the balance either. If you tend to make a relatively large payment every now and then, this feature could save you a lot of money in interest.

Highlights

  • Annual fee: S$192.6, 1-year annual fee waiver
  • 4 mile for every S$1 on online spend
  • 1.2 mile for S$1 spent overseas

Consider this if you spend mostly on shopping, dining and entertainment

Not only that, HSBC Revolution provides the same 16% off on petrol and 10% off on travel bookings so you can save even more money.
