What Makes Citi Cash Back+ Credit Card Stand Out

Citi Cash Back+ Card offers an unlimited 1.6% cashback on all spend. Since there aren't caps or earnings restrictions, this card is particularly great for high-spenders who often encounter rewards caps with other cashback cards.

Citi Cash Back+ stands out by offering 1.6% cashback on all local and overseas transactions. This is higher than the 1.5% cashback rate offered by comparable unlimited cards. Although this may not seem like much of a difference, this discrepancy adds up as budgets increase in size. Additionally, while Maybank FC Barcelona Visa Signature Card also offers 1.6% cashback, this rate only applies locally; overseas spend only earns at the equivalent of 0.8%. Hence, Citi Cash Back+ Card could be the best unlimited cashback credit card in the market.

Citi Cash Back+ Card does have several drawbacks. You must be a high spender with a monthly budget of about S$7,000 in order to truly benefit from the rewards structure. Lower spenders can earn higher rates with capped cards like UOB One (5% up to S$100/mo) or cards with high category-specific rates like Citi Cash Back (8% on dining, groceries and petrol, up to S$75/mo). Average spenders with budgets closer to S$2,000 per month can benefit more from a capped card with higher rates since they might not spend enough to take advantage of Citi Cash Back+'s lack of a rewards cap. Also, while Maybank FC Barcelona card provides an annual fee waiver for those who spend S$10k per year, Citibank Cash Back+ Card charges an annual fee of S$194.40, waived just the 1st year.

Nonetheless, Citi Cash Back+ Card still offers affluent consumers an easy way to maximise rewards on their spend with no rewards limits or other restrictions. Thanks to its high rate, cardholders earn better rates overall than with any other comparable unlimited cashback card.
